AUSTRALIAN AIRLINES SEATS BRING ‘FULL LIVING WOOD’ to Japan

JAPAN Airlines is bringing full living wood to Japan.
The carrier has ordered 300 of the seats for the company’s popular JetBlue JetBlue Blue Dream class for the next five years.
The seats will be available in the Japan-based carrier’s cabin suites and will be sold at a discounted price of ¥50,000 ($70,000) each, with a 50 percent discount for first-time customers.
The seating will be made of wood, the airline said in a statement.
It said the seats will include a “bundled” kitchen and dining area.
The airline said the seat covers have a capacity of 16.7 cubic feet (2.3 cubic meters), and are made of high-quality carbon fiber.

The new seats are part of the carrier’s commitment to improve customer service, safety and comfort and are available in JetBlue, China Eastern Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Air Asia.
They also include an additional set of seats that feature a carbon fiber backrest, a custom-designed leather seat belt and are the first in the JetBlue Dream range.
